Before we get too discouraged about the conclusions of the authors in
PEDIATRICS about formula helping babies deal with painful stimulation,
examine the article to determine if the authors control for thefolloiwng:

1) did they eliminate sucking as the IMPORTANT factor?

2) When ingesting water, lactose, OR sucrose by bottle, this involves
sucking.  Might it have been THIS rather than what the babies GOT that made
the difference?
