The closest you might come to learning this is by checking the baby's
chart. All returns to the nursery for assessments, or by mom so she can
sleep or take a shower, should be documented. I've found they don't always
document when baby is picked up by mom, although I think they must document
when the nurse takes baby back or Out To Mom (OTM). Would be an interesting
study.
Maybe you could get a hospital volunteer to survey baby charts for data.
