I can't comment on these, although I was very impressed by Vengerov at
Tanglewood in 1997.  Have you considered the Anne-Sophie Mutter recording
of the Brahms concerto with Mutter and the NYPO? Frankly, I thought it was
one of the most intense, interesting new performances in years.  Mutter
plays as if possessed and Masur gets superb sounds from the orchestra.
Do other list- ers have an opinion of this recording?
