There have been a couple of posts about size of winter stores and number 
of bees. Before charging off to emulate them find out what the climate 
is like where they live.

Bath, Florida (actually, Maine, but you get the point. I did live in 
Miami and Key West for most of my youth, where I swam in the ocean in 
winter instead of walking on it in Maine.)
