I have a hive of bees with one of those copper "garden" hive tops. This morning I noticed that at the gable ends of this top there may be space for acces to the hive through the top. Should I be concerned about this or does it benefit the bees both for ventilation and upper entrance / exit ? Should I really not be using this top to begin with?

Mark
