> But more to the point...what happens if she follows your advice and doesn't see eggs?  Wait another week or two?  Buy a queen (which will likely not survive no matter how expensive she is if there is a virgin in the swarm)?  Pop in a frame of eggs and brood (does a newbee have these resources)?

I suggested throwing another swarm in on top. We are in the middle of a swarm frenzy here, another one should be easy come by. This usually works, though once I did it and had every single one of the new bees stung to death. There are cost/benefit ratios to be calculated everywhere we look.  ; )
