   Sounds like you were trying to do it in the daytime. It's much
more reliable if you do it at dusk.

   Swarms that are "nervous" (obviously very active) probably have
already chosen a spot, and it's pretty hard to get them to stay, no
matter what you do. Hiving at dusk, with a frame of brood, gives the
best results, though. If they stay overnight, they'll usually be
yours.
