The first thing I would suggest is hand expressing. The second thing I would
explore would be a lowered milk production due to separation and maybe not
able to express often enough while separated. Mother could consider
galactagogues and increase in expressing even on her days off. I've heard
others report that it is not entirely unusual for supply to dip at the 4
month mark esp when moms go to work outside the home.
