Can you ask him if it is a pain thing or is he having trouble moving his
tongue? Maybe he can tell you.
My first thought is it is a mechanical thing, because it would be easier for
him to communicate that it hurts.
Can you ask him if he plans to resume nursing? Do you think he may have
heard/overheard something to make
him think that breastfeeding was some way related to this procedure and he
doesn't want to have the procedure
again?
I definitely recommend continued expression. Since both my children were
very verbal even at 18 mos, I am thinking
could you really try to talk to him and get an idea of what is going on?
