How sad this poor mom and baby did not get immediate help w/ bf. This is the
time to write this all up and get the mother to do the same. Ask the hosp
lactation center to get involved and you guys mount an education campaign,
provide articles, easy handouts, etc. on bf in the nicu/ bf the preterm
infant. Offer to do or ask the lactation program to do a short inservice
education program for the staff. Good luck you may be able to change their
practice now.
