If the mom was receiving adequate replacement for her thyroid, then she
would be in a "euthyroid" state, ie: normal thyroid gland function.  If her
thyroid in her body was a normal, adequate amount then it would have no bad
effect on breastfeeding.  Sort of sounds like there is more going on here
