On Nov. 16th Jay wrote that she knows that homosexuality is a genetic
thing, as differences in brain struture have been demonstrated.
Differences in brain structure have indeed been reported, however it
is still unknown if these are genetic differences. One of the
problems with the study is that the brains examined were those of
homosexual victims of AIDS and there is a possiblity that changes may
be due to the disease process. More needs to be known about the
brains of homosexuals who died without HIV/AIDS as well as about
brains of heterosexual AIDS victims. It would be unwise to make
assumptions about the ability of breastfeeding to influence sexual
orientation.
Suzanne,
who just received news of the death this morning of a family member
(not genetically related) to AIDS.
Here on the south coast of British Columbia Canada we hardly ever
have snow, but have a beautiful layer of it now to the delight of
our children.
