The only link I can think of is that we treat jaundice with light therapy,
and we used to put babies on a sunny verandah before the days of bili
lights - some still suggest this as an option for mild jaundice. As I
understand it, it's the UV rays (correct me if I'm wrong) in the bili lights
that breakdown the bilirubin. Knowing that we 'get' Vit D from sunshine as
well, perhaps someone has put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5. ie it's
the Vit D that breaks down bilirubin.

Is this too simplistic?
