I want to take my hat off to Sherri Hatcher, RN, MSN, IBCLC and Deborah
Erhardt, BS, IBCLC.  They announced the closing of their beautiful, warm,
nurturing clinic in San Antonio.  I am so sad to see this happen, because
although they are smart and savvy business women, the truth is that the
economics of private practice are tough.  I made that difficult choice
several years ago when I realized there was no way I could sustain the
overhead of my office.  But I want to thank Sherri and Deborah for the job
they've done representing our profession to their community.  They are
everything a good LC is and does, and I only hope that there will be a way
to keep them in the work, because as senior LCs with so many years of
experience, to lose them will be like seeing two libraries burn down.  Thank
you, dear friends, for your moral support all these years.
