The mind boggles at the Catch-22 re: some women being told to wean in
order to screen for something that breastfeeding (and extended
breastfeeding) or "failure to wean" apparently helps prevent!

This article has some good info and some refs that may be of use or
lead to other refs if the author or article title is search on
PubMed...
Montgomery AM (2001). Breast health in lactating women. Breastfeeding
Abstracts, 20(4), 27-28. Accessed http://www.llli.org/ba/May01.html on
05/08/08.

A couple of other thoughts...

Note wording on this – why say "wean" vs. "after baby weans" or
something similar? http://www.westcountyradiology.com/mammography.htm

This wording seems more sensibly worded:

So-so wording?: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/449395
