There are some valid concerns about ciprofloxacin and its use in children - it
is NOT recommended for children less than 18 years of age! Cipro causes
arthropathy in juvenile animals! Cipro IS excreted in human milk. Because of
the potential for serious adverse reactions in infants nursing from mothers
taking cipro, a decision should be made........
Personally, I would NOT prescribe Cipro to any infant; hence, if you prescribe
it for the nursing mother, you are essentially prescribing it to the infant
too. Surely an alternative can be found & prescribed for the mom.
