I too belong to a fundamental conservative independent Baptist church, where
most of our babies are breastfed, weaned when they want to, not by anyone's views, All have been fed on demand including my own two! without criticism, rather with support. I wonder who's definition of Chrisitan and what specific church
are being referred to in regards to scheduling bf. There are many references in the bible to bf and weaning, most refer to the weaned child as "young" see
1 Samuel 1:24. Any historians know how young young is?
Therefore I would hesitate to generalize this to conservative churches, rather look at individual practices. Any church which is truly interested in following biblical principles is interested in what is best for it's children, and considering the
disadvantages of scheduled bf which have been well documented, it is my opiniothat the choice is clear that demand is best.
