Hi all, I am having trouble accessing the archives and require info
on the above topic. Have a client with a 9 week old who was
diagnosed with this condition at 2 weeks old and required a blood
transfusion and temporary weaning onto a lactose free formula.
Now up to 4 breastfeeds a day and continuing lactose free formula
at other times. Mum desperate to resume complete BF but so far
unsucessful, baby gets bloated, has green frothy stools and is very
irritable. Mum wanting to know if there is an end in sight. Also in
Maureen Minchins new edition of Breastfeeding Matters, she
makes a reference to the baby may be reacting to a the protein in
Mums milk. Does anyone know more about this? I have advised
Mum that she need not eliminate dairy from her diet, as she has
been.
Thanks for any help.
