For a woman who is prone to yeast overgrowth, taking acidophilus is good
preventive measure. I know many such women who, once they return to
balance, continue taking it for years. They usually take 2-3 a day,
between meals, and find it keeps things healthy. Most products recommend 2
capsules a day, preferable taken in the morning before eating.

And, as has been discussed lately on Lactnet, there is no transfer to
breastmilk, and a nursing mom can benefit from it as well as any other woman.
