It so happens that this hospital has a policy of assigning a "supervisor" to new
physicians! My supervisor is according to some IBCLC's in the community one of
the worst as far as breastfeeding management! When I was told her name I
mentioned this to the chairman, asked for someone else- no chance- anyway- I
spoke to her and told her about some of my breastfeeding practices and that if
she likes I could send her some articles- she said fine send them- she acted
surprised when I talked about not supplementing a jaundiced baby- ("of course I
wouldn't supplement") so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that she'll be
open minded- I just have this underlying anxiety that I'm going to up to some
confrontations- In a way I'm glad they transferred my methadone baby to the
NICU- that way- she doesn't have anything to do with it and I can just deal
with the neonatologists!

I don't think this hospital has a breastfeeding policy but I will ask and find
out and campaign for one.

by the way- your book- the ABC's of ... helped me imensly in opening my
Breastfeeding Friendly Pediatric office! I can't wait till I get busy enough to
convince an LC to come to my office on a regular basis
