Narelle,

After reading your post outlining two cases of women with blood present
in their breastmilk, I couldn't help but notice that in each case the
blood was discovered after a pumping session.  This is just a thought,
but as mentioned in the Breastfeeding Answer Book, blood in breastmilk
could be caused by "broken capillaries within the breast from too
vigorous nipple preparation, rough handling of the breasts, or the
improper use of a breast pump."  Just a thought!
