Nancy:  It seems unlikely that lactation hormones would be responsible
for this mother's pain.  The lactation hormone which stimulates uterine
contractions is oxytocin, which is known to cause occasionally severe
"afterpains" during breastfeeding.  These usually occur immediately after
birth and subside, so it's very unlikely that they would start at 7
months.  They are also not constant, but associated with breastfeeding
sessions.  I would think that there is some other reason for this
mother's pain, and she should have a further evaluation by her
