Watermelon acts as a natural diuretic.  I don't know of any scientific
"proof" that can be shared.  We noticed it and started suggesting it to
mom's.  All felt that tried it felt it was helpful.  It sure is one of those
things that you can safely suggest without worrying about side-effects.
