We have a 2 hour breastfeeding component in our Childbirth series
where the "benefits" of breastfeeding are discussed, with the caveat
"any list would be incomplete because new things are being discovered
regularly." We also have another class where we talk about pumps/
pumping, supply issues, growth spurts, products, etc (we don't
discuss position or latch or "basics" at all). In that class I tell
them there are absolutely no benefits to breastfeeding because it is
the biological norm that their baby expects and there are only risks
to not doing it.
