TTN is Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn. Basically it's just rapid
breathing with NO OTHER problems. The baby has enough respiratory distress to
make breastfeeding (any feeding) stressful. So they are usually gavage fed.
It is very common condition in C/Sections and rapid births. The common
thought is it results from the chest not being compressed to remove lung
fluids.
the condition rarely lasts longer than a few hours.
If this little guy has pneumonia, it's not TTN.
