Unfortunately in the day of managed care the person your pprimary HCP
refers you to may be because he is on your HMO or insurance co list, not
because your HCP thinks  he is competent :-(  In some instances we have one
choice for a specialist !  Check it out because you may  have to appeal to
the insurance co for a better choice, not the poor primary HCP who is
simply given a list or booklet from the insurance co to   go  by.
