I have just worked with a mom with the oddest nipple I have ever seen. Left
nipple is normal, Right nipple has a skin tag approximatly 3mm in diameter
and 6mm long. It is attached to the face of the nipple at about 5 o'clock.
First time mom is 42 years old, skin tag started to grow about 3 years ago.
Dr. saw it during pregnancy and said that he could remove it but she
shouldn't bother because it might hurt. Baby seems to empty the breast
(sorry for the "empty" term) well, but needs four or five attempts to latch
well. I think it gags her. Anyone else ever seen one of these? Was it
removed? How long did it take to heal? Was the baby taken off the breast
while healing? The Dr. seemed to be concerned about the baby swallowing
blood if the tag is removed. I can't imagine there will be more blood from
this than came from the poor posistioning cracks on the other nipple.
