Gee, I always thought that women were not thrilled to have periods. Why does
she want them? And why would she take medicine to bring them on?  Having
menstrual periods is *not* what women's bodies were set out to have.  Maybe
many of the "women's ailments" of modern society has to do with the fact
that there are so many sterile cycles in women's reproductive years.  In
hunter gatherer societies, women were either pregnant or nursing from very
close to menarche to menopause, and having a period was apparently an
unusual event.

There is no reason a mother cannot take estrogen while breastfeeding, as far
as the baby is concerned, but it may decrease her milk supply.
