Baby born with a lower imperforate anus. Will be having corrective surgery
soon, at 3mo. Will be hospitalized for about a week. Hospital/surgical
restriction - no bf for 72 hours, to allow the surgical site to heal before
she has a bowel movement. 

Any thoughts of the necessity of the 72 hours npo?
