I CAN NOT FIGURE THIS ONE OUT AT ALL. This question goes out to all LC's
(and Dr. Newman if he is reading today). I am an LC and have watched this
happen with all six of my children. Passover comes and we eat only Shmira
Matzo (that is hand baked matzo's containing only whole wheat flour and
well water). Every year I ,the nursing mother, eat the matzos and get
constipated (true confession, don't tell anyone), now here is the tricky
part.........My nursing babies also always get constipated!!!!!!!! Now, how
can that be? During the year my babies do not get constipated when I eat
wheat bread or drink water. If they were being affected by the "wheat
protein" they would have a problem with any form of wheat. True? But they
are fine with wheat (so am I by the way). Shmira matzo is known to be
constipating but how is it affecting the nursing baby? I just do not get
it.(You may wonder about the rest of my passover diet, well, it is just
fish, veg.'s, and fruits just like I eat all year long, so I know it is the
Matzo's....)
I look forward to someone enlightening me? I really don't understand
this! You can post answers to the list, but if you e-mail me I will get the
answer quicker-thanks).
