Thank-you Felicia for your response.

I do think some sort of SPD or autism spectrum issues are a possibility. I suggested a few organizing and calming ideas for Baby with that in mind.

I am also wondering about something syndrome wise. I wouldn't rule out Down Syndrome with this little one. Baby's eyes have epicanthic folds but this is normal for Baby's genetic hx. There is definitely softness of the facial features and the open mouth posture and hypermobility indicate low tone.

If this baby had a normal birth, I would be even more leaning toward some syndrome but the traumatic birth could also account for the issues.

I will be sure to let the pediatrician know of my findings and to suggest further investigation as well as referral for more OT, CST, and OMM.

Does anyone think that a SLP would be a good idea? I am trying to help this mom to find the most appropriate therapy so that she is not overwhelmed and can keep her expenses down.
