**Aahhh, Linda... just this last weekend I saw that dvd with the mom saying
"Wow!". You know what?! It made me cry and even now that I'm writing this,
the tears come to my eyes. It is *such* a powerful image and I think all
moms with a well latching baby sort of have this feeling, even if they don't
express it as vividly as this beautiful mom. I think this is why we are so
passionate about our work: for a mom to achieve this feeling is incredibly
empowering. You can see from her face how proud and grateful and happy she
is. This is the deep sense of motherhood, of strength and sheer joy. After
all these years, I still cannot watch images like these and remain
untouched. When we saw this dvd during our intervision day last Saturday (13
lc's with a volunteer bf counsellor background, wonderful day), I expressed
wondering about this emotion. "That's because it is so close to your heart,
sweety", one of my colleagues said. It's true. That is why I cannot see how
I will ever *not* have this job. ;o))

Warmly,

Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands
