I get repeated questions from breastfeeding women who are having surgery.
The anesthesiologists repeatedly tell them not to nurse for 24 hours
because of anesthesia and drugs( unspecified). I always use the example of
post-C-Section moms nursing. I've found some consolidated information in
Lawrence, but I'm wondering if there is anything similar to the radioactive
dye informatiion that is available for reference. Often they don't know
what anesthetic agent they will receive until they talk to the doctor
again. I would like to give our anesthesiologissts a quick reference sheet
with acurrate information.
