My Food and Medication Interactions Book 1991 version says not to take with lactation.
Lovastatin is an HMG-coA reductace inhibitor (enzyme in cholesterol synthesis)  which limits
cholesterol synthesis in the liver.  Side effects include abnormal liver function, GI side effects,
etc.   No information listed about transfer into milk??
