I apologize for the argumentative tone of my post regarding the above subject.
Akthough I was responding to Frantz's own words and not hearsay, and did
include her quotes in my post, I may have been too hasty in my judgement of
said words. I am sure she is a respected and respectable woman --and she has
devoted time and energy to promoting breastfeeding instead of time shares or
microwaves, after all-- who was not wholly deserving of my ire. My
passionate feelings were, of course, more inspired by what I see around me
every day, such as: parents not touching babies; using pacifiers to keep baby
from "using mom as a pacifier"; and the use of the word colic, in this area at
least, to describe the normal cries of a baby to be nurtured in-arms, than by
Frantz's specific words. I know many of you have the same concerns, perhaps
Frantz herself does. I do hope I have assuaged any hurt feelings or offended
sensibilities.

Joy
