Hi Nikki
Is it just me, or is the most troubling part of this story, the idea that medical professionals are putting infant formula into people's bladders? Pretty sure it was never intended for that purpose; and also pretty sure there are fluids that have been engineered for precisely that purpose. (Even if it's sterile when it goes in, if I have infection in my pelvis from some other source (colon maybe?) and that milk gets into my abdo, it's going to act as a very nice culture medium.)
As a woman who has had several pelvic surgeries, I just want to say, Please don't put modified cow milk into my bladder.
I wonder if people are asked for valid consent for this procedure. I never would have thought to have a note put onto my file that said, NO INFANT FORMULA when presenting for pelvic surgery. Yikes!
