My youngest child was a *screamer.* We tried all kinds of elimination diets, but nothing seemed to work. We finally discovered what was bothering her when she began to talk. She found certain fabrics to be irritating to her skin! Funnily enough, it wasn't a clear-cut thing. She could tolerate most smooth cottons, but not all and while most synthetics bothered her, some were fine! Perhaps it had to do with the dyes used? We shall never know. The good news is that she eventually outgrew this sensitivity. This same child was also hypersensitive to odours. She could tell the difference - by smell - from one day to the next with certain foods. We used to joke that she would become a perfume blender or a wine maker when she grew up!
