I am a new LLLLeader, I've been doing a lot of reading and have been puzzled by what I perceive to be contradictory information. For sleepy newborns, not nursing effectively, one of LLL's recommendations is to practice "super switch nursing," moving the baby to the other breast as soon as he stops sucking actively. Others suggest using other measures to wake the baby and then putting him back onto the same breast because frequent switching will mean he only gets foremilk, wheras keeping him on the same breast for a while will get him more hindmilk. This is probably a very simple question, so I apologize in advance, but I'm wondering what information you all have with respect to this issue.
