What a shame that a practicing LC is bounced from her job based upon ONE
typewritten complaint!

One, not so poor new mom, wrote the hospital a long typewritten note about
how bad she felt when I came in and gave my spiel. I am now off the floor.

Is it possible to round up some ladies for whom your rounds made a
difference and for you to encourage them to write postive letters to the
hospital administrator?
Personally, I feel that once a mom has decided to bottlefeed, she has made
up her mind and nothing is going to change it. I don't feel your spiel was
appropriate (but, I am puzzled by the letter writer's statement that you made
her feel "guilty". If she was happy about her decision, I would think your
talk would have made her "mad", but not guilty) , but perhaps if you modify
your protocols you will be reinstated at the hospital. The moms who have
chosen to breastfeed need lots of encouragement and correct advice (and we
know there's not much of that around out there!)
