Cathy,
I really hear you about that bicycle horn pump. I actually used two of them
at the same time (pre-curses to double pumping - hahaha) after my first was
born in 1982! It was awful. I do, however, believe in pumps for a variety
of women who will use them for comfort...to stimulate supply....to feed
their babies while they are away.

I think my comments about stockpiling milk for times of low supply started
this thread...and boy, did I ever get some negative responses! All I can
say is...lactation care must be individualized....some women will do better
if they have a reliable pump.

My goal is always "the most amount of breastmilk for the longest possible
time." If a good pump helps a mom to give more milk for longer...I will
support that.
