To continue, (my computer had a mind of its own)...I work in many
different venues, both here in Vermont, and also I work as an
independent consultant for a major pump company...Medela. I work from
home, answering emails, and with various writing projects.
I am not an employee of Medela, but I am independent consultant. I also
work for Lactation Resources of Vermont, and the Breastfeeding Clinic
...and I will, from now on, sign my name with the signature of
independent consultant to all of the above. I am proud of all the work I
do, whether in person with mothers, online with email clients, or as a
volunteer here for Lactnet. If someone cares to judge me and my work,
they can take that up with me privately. I have nothing but a deep pride
and feeling that I have done my work, over the years, with integrity and
a true concern for mothers and babies all over the world. That is why I
do the work I do. Unfortunately, I also have to pay my bills, have
health insurance, take care of ailing elderly family members, send
children to college, face impending IBM layoffs, etc...and so the
reality of these financial facts are ever present.
I am concerned with the judgements that may be passed on those of us who
work for a living, who interact with companies. However, I will reserve
comment now, and think through the many thoughts that are coming up for
me, regarding this list, and the way it has evolved. I will comment
more on this as my thoughts evolve.
