Pat... If the MD ordered no "gift" abm to her patients and the nurse
presented the option to the patient, I'd have the new Mom report this to
her pediatrician.  This is what I call a staff-split.... a real
undermining of the pediatrician's wonderful orders!  As a recent post
stated, the physicians carry more clout as customers to the hospital
than the Mother will.  Also, at our hospital, the patient evaluations
are thoroughly reviewed and have been known to facilitate change
(however slowly!)
