Interesting!  I thought it was a congenital thing, turns out can occur at
any point  in life.  Caused by a deficiency in ADH (anti diuretic hormone).
This deficiency can have several basic causes (damage to the
hypothalamoneurall-hypophyseal axis) or idiopathic.  The pathophys book I
have (old :-)  says it is treated with nasal admin of vasopressin. Hale says
altho some may go into milk  it is destroyed in stomach.  That is why it is
given nasally or IM.
