Jan,
I believe that in the research I have read that the epidural for a C-section
(short duration), and an epidural for labor (long duration usually) makes for
the difference in the newborn's ability to latch. In other words, the longer
the fetus is exposed to the epidural medications, the more of an impact the
medications have on the newborns suckling reflexes, sleepiness, motor
coordination, etc.
Am I wrong, or is it short exposure to epidural medications as well??
