Mary, I'm sorry if you thought my comments were directed against you! They weren't! (Sorry I didn't make that clear.) I know you didn't "invent" the terms and several used them in response to your posts. For me, those terms, whoever invented them, are like fingernails scraping down a blackboard, as I believe they are incompatible with my goal to empower.

Per your last post, it sounds as if you and this mother are developing a wonderful therapeutic relationship. Way to go!
