Diane,
I have become aware that cow's milk in the diet (there we go again!) can
contribute to vomiting and/or reflux problems. You might consider asking
mom to try withdrawing dairy for a couple of weeks to see if this helps
mitigate the problem in any way. I agree with you on the one-sided
nursing for better caloric content of milk; also, "smaller, more
frequent" feeds may also help the reflux problem along with trying to
nurse baby in positions that keep him a little more upright so that air
stays more to the top of the stomach and has less probability of getting
trapped as bubbles. Good luck!
