Have you had a chance to read Robbie Davis-Floyd's "Birth As An American
Rite of Passage"?

This book has answered my 25 year old question of WHY, WHY, WHY, do
intelligent, educated women that attend real natural birth classes end
up with typical hospital births with all the interventions?  It's not an
easy read for those of us who are research-paper impaired but well worth
the time.

I feel so validated - it really is not our teaching that's to blame.
