Thanks to all who responded online and offline to the pickle dilemma.  Seems 
like the general thought is that, other than chewing of bits of it, there doesn't 
seem to be THAT much concern.

I guess I've always thought of pickles as junk food, and why would anyone 
give a baby junk food?  But, then again, you are talking to someone who three 
children are candy addicts, so who am I to judge?  ;~>

Guess I'll just tell the mom to use caution!
