PTP. I am looking for some insight into something I noted with a 6 week old who is having feeding difficulties. I also noted restrictive frenums, Lingual and maxillary labial, but I am not sure that is the main issue.

Baby transferred great at breast during a consult, 122ml in 30 minutes, but Mom says baby feeds frequently (every 2 hours)and isn't always satisfied at the breast. When pumping and bottle-feeding, Baby is satisfied. Baby never takes more than 2-3 ounces by bottle so it isn't that Mom is overfeeding by bottle. He pinched the nipple no matter what positioning or latching technique was tried and Mom is in a lot of pain.

Mom reports and I observed that Baby holds his arms tightly across his body while feeding. He will not relax his arms and hug the breast. He holds his hands fisted, bent at the wrists, and turned inwards. I haven't seen this before but I felt I had heard something about it before. Researching turned up Brachial Plexus Palsy. Any other possibilities or experience with this?
