Re: the question about nursing babies and Royal Albert Hall:

Infants and children under about 6 are not permitted into our local concert hall for something like a symphony concert. One night, an usher failed to monitor this and some one took in either a baby or a very young child who, at some point in the middle of a symphony, made enough noise for a long enough period of time that the mother couldn't "contain" the sound, and the conductor stopped the orchestra "in its tracks", waited till the child was taken out, and the symphony was started all over again from the beginning. As a symphony lover, a parent and a breastfeeding supporter all three, I think the rule is an appropriate one. I appreciate hearing the music (for which I paid a pretty price) without a fairly predictable chance of disturbance.
